Your Generosity Drives Cultural Journalism Forward

Updated: 2 days ago

We’re growing, thanks to you!

Culture OC is almost a month into our year-end fundraising campaign. Bolstered by generous matching donations from Soka University and arts leader Christopher Trela, we’ve raised close to $5,000 so far – a quarter of the way to our ambitious $20,000 goal.

We’re proud of what we’ve achieved in our first year. Since the fall of 2023, we’ve published over 300 stories about theater, music, dance, visual arts, food and community culture in Orange County. So far this year we’ve won 14 journalism prizes. And we are finalists in six categories in the prestigious National Arts & Entertainment Journalism Awards, which will be announced in December. Pretty good for a rookie season!

We’re offering even more benefits for members of our Culture Club. A donation of just $10 per month, or $100 per year, entitles you to perks like Culture Club Presents, a special VIP experience that includes free tickets and exclusive extras at select concerts, gallery openings and other events. We’re very excited to offer two Culture Club Presents events in the new year  at Segerstrom Center for the Arts:

  • On Jan. 17, a music writer from our staff will accompany a group to a performance of the Pacific Jazz Orchestra, celebrating the great Brazilian songwriter, singer and pianist Ivan Lins on his 80th birthday.

  • From April 3-6, Segerstrom Center will host our Culture OC donors at the U.S. premiere of “A Winter’s Tale,” performed by American Ballet Theatre.

We hope you’ll consider supporting Culture OC with a tax-deductible donation as we bring Orange County the best in cultural journalism. Thank you for your critical support this holiday season!
