Inaugural OC Book Fair to Debut in Old Town Tustin on July 13, 2024

The following is a press release from an organization unaffiliated with Culture OC. The information provided has been written by the submitting organization and not by the writers at Culture OC. We include this on our site in the spirit of sharing information about the arts and culture community in Orange County.

Orange County's literary community eagerly awaits the inaugural OC Book Fair, scheduled to take place on July 13, 2024, in historic Old Town Tustin. This exciting FREE event will bring together book lovers of all ages for a day-long celebration of literature, creativity, and community.

Organized by dedicated advocates of literacy and generously sponsored by Blackstone Publishing, the OC Book Fair promises a diverse showcase of literary genres. From 10:00 AM to 7:00 PM, attendees can explore new books, engage with authors, and participate in a variety of enriching activities. Highlights include author readings, book signings, interactive workshops, and insightful panel discussions, all aimed at fostering a deeper appreciation for reading and storytelling.

The event will feature a special keynote address by Emily Calandrelli, an acclaimed science communicator, author, and host of Netflix's "Emily's Wonder Lab." Known for her engaging and educational approach to science and technology, Calandrelli will inspire attendees with her insights on the intersection of literature and scientific discovery.

Sam Robertson, Chair of the OC Book Fair Board, expressed enthusiasm for the event, stating, "We are excited to launch the OC Book Fair in Old Town Tustin, supported by our title sponsors, Blackstone Publishing and The Tustin Literary Arts Foundation, an affiliate program of the Tustin Area Council for Fine Arts. This event underscores our commitment to promoting literacy and providing a platform for authors and readers to connect. We invite the community to join us for a day filled with literary exploration and community camaraderie."

The OC Book Fair will feature a lineup of both established and emerging authors, showcasing the rich talent from Orange County and beyond. Families can enjoy specially curated children's activities, including interactive storytelling sessions, community roundtables, a living library where participants can check out stories told firsthand by community members and creative literary crafts, ensuring a welcoming and engaging experience for young readers.

Admission to the OC Book Fair is free, encouraging broad participation and making it accessible to all members of the community. Visitors are encouraged to explore the charming streets of Old Town Tustin while enjoying the festivities and discovering new books.
