Each year, in addition to their Southern California Journalism Awards held in the spring, the LA Press Club also hosts the National Arts and Entertainment Awards annually in the fall.
At the awards gala held this weekend on Dec. 3, 2023, Culture OC writer Eric Marchese was announced as a third place winner at the 16th annual ceremony.
For the 2022-2023 season, the LA Press Club received over 1,600 entries from news outlets across the country. Two of Culture OC's writers were named as finalists for pieces written under the Voice of OC masthead:
Marchese for his piece "Stage Door Closes Its Doors, For Now" in the category Theater Feature, Online.
Paul Hodgins for his piece “Triumph Over Adversity Festival Brings Dynamic New Talent to O.C.” in the category Diversity in the Music/Performing Arts Industry, Online.
