“Cantos, Cuentos y Corridos de Santa Ana: Cuentos del Corazón'' presentado por Breath of Fire Latina Theater Ensemble (BOFLTE), es una obra de nueva música, teatro e imaginación para compartir los cuentos que no son conocidos de la gente, la historia y los cuentos de Santa Ana del corazón. Para levantar el ánimo de nuestra ciudad y formar comunidad entre los residentes a medio de creatividad, cuentos y canto.
Qué y por qué:
Ven a explorar con nosotros el género tradicional, “CORRIDO” una forma de narración apreciada en México y en los Estados Unidos de casi trescientos años atrás. No se requiere experiencia.
Los residentes pueden crear sus propios corridos sobre los eventos de sus experiencias en Santa Ana o de la historia de Santa Ana. Las canciones que vienen de este medio tendrán su propio cuento y energía para compartir. Hay mucho más para explorar con este género tradicional.
Hasta quince obras serán seleccionadas por la organización de los escritores del pasado, presente y nuevos escritores quienes han vivido, trabajado, y/o fueron un estudiante en Santa Ana.
No se requiere experiencia en la composición de canciones.
El proyecto comenzó en la primavera de 2024 y va a concluir a principios de septiembre de 2024.
Los talleres, ensayos y presentaciones se van a llevar a cabo durante estas fechas.
Este taller es gratis. No se requiere experiencia.

WORKSHOPS IN ENGLISH:
“Cantos, Cuentos and Corridos of Santa Ana: Stories of the Heart, '' presented by Breath of Fire Latina Theater Ensemble (BOFLTE), is a musically driven, theatrical re-imagining of the untold stories of the people, the history, and or the stories of Santa Ana from the heart. A way to uplift our city’s spirit and for residents to connect through creativity, storytelling and song.
What and why:
Join Us and Explore this traditional genre, “CORRIDO” a nearly three hundred year old cherished storytelling form of Mexico and the United States. No experience required.
Residents can create their own corrido, either writing events from their own Santa Ana experience or from the history of Santa Ana. The songs developed in this process will have their own story to tell and energy to share. There is much more to explore in this traditional genre.
Up to fifteen will be selected by the organization from past, current, and new writers that have lived, worked and/or went to school in Santa Ana.
Experience in songwriting is not required. The launch began this Spring 2024 and will conclude by early September 2024.
Workshops, rehearsal processes, and presentations will take place within the timeframe.
