Carl St.Clair, longtime conductor of Pacific Symphony, has just landed a new appointment. The Thailand Philharmonic Orchestra (TPO) in Bangkok has chosen the him as its next music director.
St.Clair’s new appointment was announced earlier today in Slipped Disc, a news website for the classical music industry. It was confirmed by press release after reaching out to the TPO.
According to the release from the orchestra, along with conducting duties, St.Clair “will collaborate closely with the College of Music, Mahidol University, where he will mentor and inspire young musicians through masterclasses, workshops, and educational initiatives.”
Khunying Patama Leeswadtrakul, Chair of the TPO Board of Directors added that ”with his vast experience and proven international success, I am confident that the arrival of Maestro Carl St. Clair will be a powerful force in elevating the Thailand Philharmonic Orchestra to international standards and becoming a truly global orchestra.”
