EDITORS' PICKS

We don't have the resources to write in-depth stories about everything.  Our editors want to share a few more events each week that we think you should know about.  These picks are chosen by them without input from the organizations listed. 

The well-regarded Korean flutist is known for her virtuosity and refined interpretation, as well as her innovative programming that crosses musical genres. Her concert will explore classical, jazz and film music, including excerpts from "La La Land" and "Cinema Paradiso." 7 p.m. April 29 at Irvine Barclay Theatre.

Playwright Noa Gardner weaves Hawaiian myths and legends into this mysterious tale about holding on, letting go and the curious force that pulls us back home. World premiere. April 27-May 18 on South Coast Repertory's Julianne Argyros Stage.

This exhibit presented by the Festival of the Arts in Laguna Beach will feature the work of 12 Orange County artists at the festival's satellite gallery, foaSOUTH. The show includes paintings, sculptures, photography, ceramics and jewelry. Through June 23. A special reception to meet the artists will be held on May 1 from 6-7 p.m., coinciding with the First Thursday Art Walk.
