EDITORS' PICKS

We don't have the resources to write in-depth stories about everything.  Our editors want to share a few more events each week that we think you should know about.  These picks are chosen by them without input from the organizations listed.

Leading up to the 2025 Academy Awards, the Lido Theater in Newport Beach celebrates Academy Award-winning films with a selection of past Oscar classics. Films are shown on select evenings at 7 p.m. through Friday, February 28. Next up: "The Sting" on Feb. 5.

This Pulitzer Prize finalist, a dark comedy by Branden Jacobs-Jenkins, skewers the cutthroat culture of modern media. Through Feb. 8 at UC Irvine's Robert Cohen Theatre.

This series examines how Paul Gauguin, Vincent van Gogh and Emile Bonnard, veterans of Paris' rich artistic scene, left the city to embrace a profoundly different world. Through Feb. 26 at the Bowers Museum.
